Core Return Policy
You pay a core deposit, we ship out the part. You install. You call us, we pickup the core for free. It's inspected, and when approved- Deposit refunded via your Credit Card. It's that simple. See below for additional details.
We take great pride in our procedures and processes - all of which are designed to produce the highest level of quality and efficiency.The core return and inpsection process is no different.
Here's a quick overview of the Core Return Process:
Your core pickup is managed by a third party logisitics team - they are the ones that coordinate with the carriers and get it picked up.
This is why you must pay special attention to the delivery paperwork - the contact for pickup is there with your serial #. If you are transferred to a voice mail - leave a message with your serial # and pickup availability. It is your responsibility to get the SERIAL NUMBER from your longblock or delivery packet. They cannot schedule pickup without your serial number.
Your core is picked up and routed to the appropriate inspection team based on type/size of engine.
Your core is completely disassembled and inspected by the inspection team.
The inspection team records its findings and determines remnaufacturability/credit. The accounting department is notified with the results.
The accounting team issues the applicable credit to your card.
Since this process can take a number of days, we very much appreciate your patience.
NOW THAT YOU KNOW THE PROCESS, PLEASE DO NOT CALL US TEN TIMES ASKING FOR YOUR CORE DEPOSIT - IT DOES NOT EXPEDITE THE PROCESS.
ENGINEGUY CORE RETURN POLICY The EngineGuy engine/transmission program is designed as a one-for-one exchange program. Customers are required to return the same year and displacement engine or same year and tag number of transmission as purchased. The amount of engines or transmissions returned must equal the amount purchased. All cores returned are subject to a handling fee of $50. Cores are not accepted after 30 days. After 30 days, If EngineGuy opts to accept core, Customer is responsible for shipping (pick up is $100 in addition to the handling fee). LONG BLOCK/TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLIES Return Guidelines: For 100% core credit 1. Core must be returned in original packaging or no credit will be issued. 2. Core must be fully assembled and to the same build level as the replacement engine or transmission. 3. Core must be visually remanufacturable. 4. Core must be returned with completed CORE RETURN AUTHORIZATION TAG properly attached. 30% core credit will be issued for: 1. Core not returned in original packaging. 2. Core not fully assembled and to the same build level as the replacement product. 3. Core has a visible cracked block or head, broken rods or mains, cracked or broken transmission case any of which deem the product to be NOT remanufacturable. TORQUE CONVERTERS
NOTE: All cores returned must be properly identified as full or partial credit on attached CORE RETURN AUTHORIZATION TAG.

- Must be the torque converter compatible with the transmission
- There will be a $75 fee for missing or incompatible torque converters
